Kunaal Sharma is a doctoral candidate in political science at Columbia University. His dissertation leverages experimental research methods to design and evaluate interventions aimed at reducing religious prejudice and violence. With a focus on Muslim communities, Kunaal has conducted prejudice-reduction experiments in Turkey, Pakistan, India, and Kenya, where he is the co-lead evaluator of a de-radicalization program in Mombasa.
Kunaal has presented his work at various conferences, including at the University of Oxford, Columbia University, Freedom House, and the U.S.-based Midwest Political Science Association. He speaks Hindi-Urdu and French as well as basic Turkish and Persian.
Prior to graduate school, Kunaal was the South Asia research associate at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, DC. He earned his MA and BA in political science (with honors) from Columbia.
